Jimmy And The Teasers
FABULOUSLY TRASHY
Stuntman
(FOUR STARS out of FIVE)
Raunchy bad-ass garage-sleaze
A North Carolina combo consisting of one
regular guy (that'll be Jimmy) and at least two (it varies) hot
alterna-babes in cheerleader outfits (C-Bomb on bass, Super Val
drumming), it's of course The Teasers' gleaming riffs which appeal
to the reserved British gentleman. Making The Cramps sound wussy
and Boss Hog sound like Pinky & Perky, they do dirty rock'n'roll
with swagger, sweat and a touch of glammy burlesque. Titles like
"Sin-O-Matic", "She Likes Girls" and "She's
Slummin' It" tell you it ain't subtle, but in this genre
you either kick it or not: The Teasers (patent leather) boot it
halfway to hangover heaven. So much fun it's sticky.

REVIEW FROM GAINSVILLE FLORIDA
Next up Jimmy and the Teasers took the stage. I was kind of wondering
how anyone would follow up something as outrageous as Big Oil's
performance. Well Jimmy and his two lovely teasers played one
of the most energetic southern rock acts I have ever seen. Seriously.
These three were having so much fun you could just feel it. Jimmy
was explosive. He totally abused the mic. He kicked it off the
stage, threw it to the ground, then set it up on the floor in
front of the stage. He would play a song out in front of the stage
and then fall back onto the stage playing a guitar solo, he looked
like a poisoned wasp...kicking his legs up in the air, all balled
up. I thought the sound guys would be pissed at how he was abusing
their mics, but Jimmy later told me that he was using his own
mic. He was a true professional. Solid.
And the teasers....wow. These two fine
southern ladies could play. SuperVal, the drummer looked like
a happy trucker on payday. She was so energetic that she was just
bouncing off the seat and playing flawlessly with a big grin on
her face. Seriously, if you missed it...you missed it. C-Bomb
was an amazing bassist. And I have to admit...I am in love. This
was one of the truest teasers. her hips would sway back and forth
and guys were really focused on her bass. Yeah. It was her bass
I was thinking about. This girl was so foxy, great hips, and amazing
finger action. I talked to both Val and Charity (C-Bomb) after
the show and they had the most awesome true southern accents.
These were real rock musicians. They loved playing in this band.
It was so much fun to them. In a word the teasers were darlin'.

FAB TRASH REVIEW FROM THE CYCLOPS 'ZINE
Jimmy and the Teasers have released "Fabulously
Trashy" themselves. Jimmy is Jimmy Brad. He writes all the
songs, plays guitar, harp and sings. This is his thing. The Teasers
are SuperVal on drums and C-Bomb on bass. There's a good reason
they're called the Teasers and it's because they're hot. As the
cd title says, Jimmy and the Teasers play some great white trash
rock n' roll. They remind me of Nine Pound Hammer. "Billy
Hood" is a little punk rocker about the "King of Pittsburgh."
Sounds like a true story of Jagermeister and looking for strippers
with pimped out Billy Hood in Steel City, USA. "Calvin"
has a nice riff and I just love that guitar solo. "Fay"
is cool little instrumental with a country flair, courtesy of
a banjo part. "She Likes Girls" is a straight-up rock
and roller. Love the lyrics, "She's got my mind so twisted,
she got me so obsessed. I might try to seduce her in some high
heels and a dress. Maybe, if I'm really nice, at least she'll
let me watch. She likes girls. She likes girls." I first
heard "She's Slummin' It" on WFMU and was instantly
hooked. Great rockin' song about rich girls makin' it with down
and out guy. As this song illustrates, Jimmy has a way of telling
a funny story and rockin' your ass at the same time. "Card
Tricks" is a blues number with some slide work and everybody's
favorite blues theme, getting taken by Ol' Slew Foot. "Sin-o-matic"
is about havin' fun at the local drive-in. It makes you wish you
could find a drive-in somewhere. The record ends with "Spooky."
It's made to sound like an old Delta blues record with the scratches
and everything. It' just Jimmy, his acoustic slide guitar and
harp. It's a nice finish. If you like your rock n' roll plenty
trashy and with a big ole dose of humor, Jimmy and the Teasers
are for you. Somebody give 'em a record deal. Get this album at

PREVIEW FOR FREAKY TIKI WEEKEND IN CHAPEL
HILL
INDEPENDENT WEEKLY
The local wild card in the Freaky Tiki
Weekend is Burlington's Jimmy and the Teasers. Although the band
is a Sleazefest staple, they can be considered garage as well.
Critics accuse the band of sounding rockabilly, but frontman Jimmy
Ray doesn't agree. "I like rockabilly, but I don't hear rockabilly
in our music all that much except for patterns it might share.
I tend more towards the term garage or punk."
The guitarist says he might go for punkabilly,
but "it's more garage music to me because some of our stuff
doesn't have an a-billy to it at all if you ask me. It might be
more of a garage blues background."
"It's simple music," Jimmy Ray
explains. "It's not supposed to challenge the listener, it's
supposed to encourage them to jump up and down with us."
The guitarist often takes jumping up and
down to extremes. He's got a falling down thing going on onstage
to the extent that some previews even warn fans to watch out for
falling mike stands during the show. "Between playing guitar
and having a couple of drinks and trying to sing, you become a
pawn of gravity," he laughs. "I never intended to be
a singer. I was still doing my crazy guitar thing. When I started
singing, it (the mikestand) was just an occupational hazard."
The guitarist says he tries not to defy
gravity so much after a couple of show-stopping falls, including
one over the top of the drum set that took him offstage and left
him on the floor bloodied. "At least at The Cave for the
Freaky, there's not a stage for me to fall off of, cause the stage
is the floor."
The teaser part of the outfit is supplied
by skimpily clad bassist Charity C Bomb Quick and drummer Super
Val. "People like the girls," says Jimmy Ray. "I
like the girls. They rock. It's not just a shtick. There's a lot
of shtick involved, but I'd like to think the music is keeping
people around."

Degenerate Press Review, Independent
Georgia Festival ATLANTA
Jimmy and the Teasers came all the way
from Chapel Hill to lurk in the shade behind their van, eying
the small gathering. Jimmy slugged down a beer and said, "I
was taking it easy, but it's only 10 people that are gonna see
me fall down I might as well have another."
There were more than 10 people watching, but not a lot more. Too
bad, 'cause Jimmy can play fuckin' guitar. I wish Jimmy would
get the Teasers to sing, at least as backup, so he'd get that
mix of male/female voices that works so well, but it doesn't matter,
the guy rocks hard. You get the impression that he's not actually
in control of the guitar or the fingers playing it or even his
arms and legs, he's just hanging on for the ride and enjoying
it. Check 'em out online at www.jimmyandtheteasers.com

Review from OKC 66 Bowl Show
North Carolina Crisco ' Roll band infamous
for their hot and bothered Sleazefest shows. JATT are Chapel Hill
greasy teasy. Brought west by buds Billy Joe Winghead, they played
dirty boogie and backed it up hard against a stunned audience.
The songs have a wet theme: Suds, panties and Rocket 88 Hi-Test.
" I like it when it hurts
" Jimmy howled to Super-Val's
merciless tattoo drumbeat. For jumping around as much as they
did, JATT's music was glove tight. An uninhibited, rowdy Tar-Heel
treat.

Jimmy and the Teasers, a somewhat goofy
guy-fronted/girl rhythm section rock band turned out to be brilliant.
Killer songs with awesome punch lines powerfully delivered by
a sweaty girl heavy band stumbling around drunkenly and pouring
beer on each other. I can't say enough good stuff about them.
I wanted their drummer. Yum.
